Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 4 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny, breezy and cold Max Speed: Distance Covered: 5 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Tuesday 8th January - walks **** – Around Felixstowe – Sunny
periods, breezy and cold.
What a top day despite the keen wind fron the NE making it pretty cold but
at least the sun was out which always mkes things feel better! As we were
having the lovely Maeva in the morning I decided to head down to Felixstowe
seafront to see the sunrise, so I wrapped up warm, the ski salopettes came
out of the loft yesterday as this spell of cold weather looks like it is
here to stay! I got to the seafront around 7.30 There was a nice band of
red out on the horizon and because of the biting wind from the NE I spent
most of the time on the sheltered side of the pier with some lovely rolling
waves coming in. The sun appeared just after eight and I got some nice pics
of the splashing waves and was lucky enough to get one on the TV for the
second night running! The two wet feet I got was well worth it, then home
to warm up over breakfast.
Then just after ten Mag and I walked around to pick up Maeva who was
pleased to see us, after a chat we wrapped her up warm and headed for home
via the town and onto the clifftop, a tad chilly as we covered three miles
with Maeva sleeping a good part of it!
We walked another mile when we took Maeva around to our old friend Mary for
a cuppa and cake which went well:)
So in all I walked over 5 miles today, should sleep well tonight!
